WENT OUT
Tuesday night Wyatt and I went to see the movie entitled "Danielson: a Family Movie or Make a Joyful Noise HERE". While the movie was as long as its title, it was an entertaining and inspiring story about Daniel Smith who, along with his siblings, formed the band Danielson Famile.
They wear nurses' uniforms to symbolize the healing power of their music. They are inspired by their love of Jesus but would not call themselves a Christian rock band.
The movie follows Daniel through all of the incarnations of his music. One of which is Brother Danielson shown here in his Nine Fruit Tree costume:
There is a lot of live footage of Danielson and of the sweet-faced Sufjan Stevens who was originally a fill in member of the Danielson Famile who rose to his own fame as a solo artist.
Among the many people who were interviewed outside of Danielson shows there was this guy:
Our good friend Aaron Lazar, frontman of Brooklyn's premier sex metal band The Giraffes, who, when asked about Danielson, said something to the effect of "I'm in a metal band and that guy scares me". It must have been from around the time that Aaron was working at the Knitting Factory, a venue often played by Danielson.
After the movie we went for a drink at Royal Oak where none other than Jimmy "The Gherkin" Sparber, frontman of Brooklyn's premier Transylvanian pop rock band, Breakup Breakdown, was bartending:

GOT ALL ACOUSTIC
Check it out!
This is me playing at Cha Cha's House of Ill Repute. If you want to see more of me jamming out in an acoustic way you should come to Black Betty (Havemeyer and Metro)on Tuesday night (December 12th) at 10pm. Jeff and I are playing some of our own songs assisted by our good friend (and my main squeeze - step off, ladies) Wyatt Tuzo. And, we are opening up for the incomparable Boy Genius, featuring Jeff. It's really incestuous! It's really Oooh!

SORRY
I apologize for embarrassing us all at Southpaw on Thursday night by using the term "Big Ups". On stage. Into the mic.
I think I was excited that some or all of the band that played before us (The Gritty Midi Gang) went to SUNY Fredonia. Being an alum of two SUNY schools, the words "Big ups to SUNY" came out of my mouth.
Up until that very moment I was unaware that that phrase was a part of my vocabulary.
It will never happen again.
Thank you,
Allison Langerak

JEFF'S NEW GUITAR
In order to smooth Jeff's transition from "cool, young, indie rocker" into "creepy, old, guitar weirdo" there is this:

COINED A TERM
Have you ever been gone for that look that is classy but a little slutty around the edges? It's a good look. But what to call it? Well, that question was answered last night in the fancy band/green room at Southpaw when we came up with the term Clusty. That's right - it's a combination of Classy and Slutty. Use it.
Nothing but good times with Breakup Breakdown. Nothing but good times.
